As a busy surgeon or procedurals, finding a surgical assistant and anaesthetist can be troublesome at the best of times. With your own time spent or the time of your busy Personal Assistant or Secretary, it has shown to be one of the most frustrating tasks in private practice. Surgical assistants don’t get back to you, or anaesthetists need to check their schedule. When you call an anaesthetic group, they tell you that they don’t cover you, or the one they provide you is someone you never want to work with!
A solution does exist, and OpAlert has worked hard with Surgeons, Surgical Assistants and Anaesthetists to bring a platform ready for Australia. As a surgeon, you will never need to spend more than 20 seconds organising your operating list with an anaesthetist or surgical assistant again. If you need someone at short notice – no problems. OpAlert has an advanced method of prioritising lists that are starting soon.
With OpAlert all you need to do is download the app (Or your secretary can use the web app using their own web browser) and post your list details. Once uploaded, you will receive instant notifications as your surgical assistant or anaesthetist confirms their availability. If you need to change the details like the start time, number of cases, or location, just edit the case, and your team will reconfirm their availability.
This is one of the most advanced notification systems available, and provides you and your PA/Secretary the ability to monitor who is attending at all times. Email confirmations are sent to you and your nominated PA/Secretary along the way.
If you work with someone you like, just add them to your GOLD or SILVER group (For assistants) or your GOLD group (For Anaesthetists) so that they get priority over any future cases. If you really know you don’t want to work with someone, just add them to your block list.
Finding a good surgical assistant and anaesthetist can be hard. Its a good idea to try a few before you commit. The easiest way is to keep using OpAlert.
